Nightcrawler, also known as Kurt Wagner, is a mutant character most famously associated with the X-Men. His first appearance was in Giant Size X-Men #1 in 1975.

Distinguished by his indigo fur, pointed ears, yellow eyes, and a prehensile tail, Nightcrawler possesses the ability to teleport. This ability allows him to instantly transport himself and others across short distances, leaving behind a puff of smoke and the faint smell of brimstone. He is agile and skilled in acrobatics.

Raised in a Bavarian circus, Nightcrawler is known for his strong Catholic faith, optimistic personality, and self deprecating humor despite the prejudice he faces due to his demonic appearance. He is often depicted as a swashbuckler, using his teleportation to outmaneuver opponents in battle.
